Relive the 60's & 70's

Some of the iconic and classic bands of the 60’s and 70’s are coming to the 2017 Kentucky State Fair in a “free” concert on Tuesday, August 22nd.   The Happy Together Tour was started by The Turtles in 1984 and after a small break, resurfaced in 2010.

Other notable bands on this tour include The Box Tops (“The Letter”, “Cry Like a Baby), The Association (“Wendy”, “Cherish”, “Never My Love”) – my personal favorite band in the tour, Chuck Negron with Three Dog Night (“Mama Told Me Not to Come”), The Cowsills (“Hair”, “The Rain, the Park & Other Things”), and The Archies (“Sugar, Sugar”), the newest addition to the tour.  And, of course, the Turtles (“She’d Rather Be With Me” & “Happy Together” – hence the tour name.

As stated, this concert is “free” with paid admission to the fair.  If you get tickets in advance, the tickets will be $7.00 but after August 16th the price goes up to $10.00.  A concert for $10.00 is pretty darn good considering prices these days.  But of course, you’ll have to pay $8.00 for parking.  Apparently the State Fair is giving us seniors a break on this day, with free admission to the fair before 5 pm.

Mark your calendars for August 22nd and enjoy hit after hit of the 60’s and 70’s. You don’t want to miss this show!!!  Cardinal Stadium and seating is based on a first-come, first-served basis – so come early!!!!!
