Meet Our New Employee

A big welcome to Delwuan "Del" Thompson, new to our Delivery Department.  Del has been working through a temporary agency the last couple of months and now we're pleased to say he's taken on the full-time role of a Delivery Driver/Technician.  He's been in the transportation business for the last 10 years or so, so he brings solid experience with him.

Employee of the Month

Mike Lanter has been with the company for almost 16 years and in that time he has established himself as a loyal, reliable and likeable employee.  It should come as no surprise that the Accounting Department admits they couldn't function without him.  He's a key team player in his role as Billing Staff Assistant and he's always eager to help out in other areas of the department.

Mike, we appreciate your great attitude and enjoy working with you.  Congrats!

Happy at Work

"Employees who believe that management is concerned about them as a whole person - not just an employee - are more productive, more satisfied, more fulfilled.  Satisfied employees mean satisfied customers."    - Anne M. Mulcahy

With that in mind, please join us in celebrating Duplicator Sales & Service and Derby City Litho's working anniversaries for January, February and March:

Put All Your Eggs in One Basket

Originally marketed for homes and small businesses, the multifunctional unit is in high demand for medium to large businesses and has been for some time now.   Commonly known as MFP’s, these versatile devices consolidate copy, print, scan & fax into one single unit.
Why are they so popular?  In a nutshell – space!  Gone are the days of having a copier on one wall next to a fax machine that is next to a printer.  Eliminating a scanner at your desk obviously frees up work space there as well.

Employee of the Month

~~Congratulations to Holly Crisler, this month's Employee of the Month.  Being a designer for Derby City Litho, Holly consistently brings to the table fresh ideas and a high level of professionalism.  Recently she helped out in a rush project by getting the job proofed and plated to ensure the presses would be running the next day, staying late to finish the job.

Why Your Business Should Recycle Toner

About 70% of used printer cartridges are currently being thrown away, amounting to tons of ink and toner cartridges ending up in landfills. Once there, they release toxins and hazardous waste materials into the environment.  And surprisingly enough, a laser cartridge thrown into a landfill can take up to 450 years to decompose.  Since 97% of the material in cartridges are reusable, why not incorporate recycling in your business?

Employee of the Month

A big shout out to Lead Service Specialist Allen Whitaker!  Aside from the fact that he consistently produces good quality work, it should be noted that Allen is always the first to respond to any email or situation that needs immediate service attention.

He absolutely NEVER complains as evidenced by his recent "above & beyond" work during the holidays.  He not only put out many fires before Christmas but he exceeded expectations on New Year's Eve by volunteering to go on a late out-of-town call to help a customer in need.

Welcome!!!

Please extend a warm welcome to Leah Josiah, our new Rental Billing Specialist in the Accounting Department.  Leah has a strong background in Administration & Management as well as Accounting.  She and her family first came to the United States from Kenya in 1973 where she worked for the U.N. in Washington, DC.  Years later, in 2010, she was granted citizenship.

Let's Celebrate!!

Malcolm Forbes

Why Color?

~~     Studies by the Institute for Color Research reveal people make a subconscious judgment about a person, environment, or product within 90 seconds of initial viewing and that between 62% and 90% of that assessment is based on color alone.  Further research shows that catching the buyer’s eye and conveying information are crucial to successful sales and the addition of color only intensifies that first impression.
