Employee of the Month ... Tammy Allen

If you don’t know Tammy Allen, you need to get to know her. She is the shining star, aka “Employee of the Month” in the eyes of our customers at Derby City Litho. Her co-workers think she is pretty great too.

Picture this … Derby City recently had a dark day.  The boss was on vacation, the workload was immense, the press broke down, and deadlines were in danger.  But our hero, Tammy, stepped up to save the day.

'Tis the Season to be Thankful

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it seems the right time to examine our lives and be thankful for our many blessings.  Some things that might come to mind are how blessed we are with families, friends, and good health.  But what about technology?  Yes … technology.  How in the world did we ever manage without it?  Here are some reasons why we should be forever thankful for all the new and ever-changing technology we have available to us.  Let’s touch on a few points.

Introducing ... Chanyell Mobley

Please give a big welcome to Chanyell Mobley, new to our Inside Sales Department.  Chanyell comes to us with over 10 years customer service experience.  She graduated from Spencerian College with a certificate in Phlebotomy years ago but has since changed her career course.

You Go, Girl!

When we acquired Corporate Mailing Systems a couple of years back, little did we know we were not only getting the “best of the best” in FP products, but we were also getting a wonderful & knowledgeable employee like Lise Montague.

What to Know When Making Online Purchases

With the increasing popularity of online purchasing, how do you really know your information is protected?  In other words, are you purchasing from a secure site?

First of all, what is a secure site?  A secure connection with a website is an encrypted exchange of information between the site you are visiting and the browser you are using.  The information you type in, in a secure connection, is encrypted into an unreadable format that only the website can decipher.  Hence, your information like credit card number, address, etc., cannot be stolen.

Heart & Soul

Generally speaking, long-time workers are the heart & soul of a company.  Their dedication, not to mention the knowledge they’ve gained throughout the years, makes them a special and invaluable employee.

With this in mind, please join us in celebrating DS&S and DCL’s working anniversaries for the months of May, June, July & August:

Consider It Done Award

Derby City Litho would like to present this month’s Employee of the Month award to long-time friend & colleague, Skip Fow!  Skip has been on press at DCL for 23 years and in recent months has been promoted to Press Room Manager.

Skip has an infectious & positive attitude and takes customer deadlines seriously.  Not too long ago he took a job home to finish because of shipping software issues.  Never one to disappoint, he delivered that very job to the UPS store on the following day - a Saturday.

In Search of an IT Service Provider

With IT departments becoming more and more overwhelmed with requests, the managed services market is rapidly expanding.  Therefore, many organizations are turning to service providers outside of the company.   With this in mind, businesses have every right to be selective in their search for a reputable provider and should take into account that not all IT companies are created equal.

So, it’s very important to do your research and eliminate certain parties from the mix and find a good fit for your organization.  Sound complicated?  It doesn’t have to be.
