Consider It Done Award

Derby City Litho would like to present this month’s Employee of the Month award to long-time friend & colleague, Skip Fow!  Skip has been on press at DCL for 23 years and in recent months has been promoted to Press Room Manager.

Skip has an infectious & positive attitude and takes customer deadlines seriously.  Not too long ago he took a job home to finish because of shipping software issues.  Never one to disappoint, he delivered that very job to the UPS store on the following day - a Saturday.

In Search of an IT Service Provider

With IT departments becoming more and more overwhelmed with requests, the managed services market is rapidly expanding.  Therefore, many organizations are turning to service providers outside of the company.   With this in mind, businesses have every right to be selective in their search for a reputable provider and should take into account that not all IT companies are created equal.

So, it’s very important to do your research and eliminate certain parties from the mix and find a good fit for your organization.  Sound complicated?  It doesn’t have to be.

Festival Fun

Join in on the fun at the 14th annual Highlands Festival 2018, an art, crafts & music festival. It all takes place on Saturday, September 8th from 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm. in the heart of the Highlands located at the 900 block of Baxter Avenue (from Highland to Broadway).

Introducing ...Glenn Profitt

Please welcome Glenn Profitt to Derby City Litho where he is eager to take on the role of Production Assistant/Delivery Driver.  Glenn has many years work experience in both driving and printing, so he should be a great fit.

He is single and has one daughter and a 10-year-old dog named Sugar.  Glenn has many interests, with riding motorcycles, playing the drums, and being a Louisville fan topping his list.

 Welcome aboard!!

Employee of the Month - Jason Heil

Jason is our Lead Technical Coordinator who is responsible for the repair of all equipment delivered to the Louisville Service Shop as well as the daily upkeep and organization of the shop, the service holding and the junk equipment areas. He is definitely the “go-to” guy for ensuring the quality and timely completion of all customer and in-house equipment repairs.  On top of that, he stills find time to fill in on the Service Help Desk, go out in the field to service a machine, and deliver an occasional part.  Remarkable!  Congratulations on an outstanding job!

The Power of Purple

Duplicator Sales & Service and Derby City Litho employees had the pleasure of participating in the 2018 PurpleStride 5K Walk/Run to end Pancreatic Cancer hosted by the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network this past weekend at Beckley Creek Park.

Pancreatic cancer has struck close to home at Duplicator Sales and Derby City Litho.  Years ago, we lost a dear friend and colleague because of this disease, and our own Joe Nash was diagnosed in February of 2017.

Records Were Made to be Broken!

Well, we did it!  Employees of Duplicator Sales & Derby City Litho should be proud.  Through hard work and fortitude, we collected 154 backpacks for Volunteer of America's 2018 Backpack Program, shattering last year's record of 120 backpacks.  Remember, the V.O.A. annually helps thousands of homeless and at-risk children in our community to return to school with the basic supplies needed.  But they can't do it alone.

2018 Service Awards

Duplicator Sales & Derby City Litho's Annual Service Awards Presentation took place on Wednesday, July 18th.  Mike Nash was Master of Ceremonies and did not disappoint when it came to honoring these long-time employees.  Distinquished employees with 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 years of service were recognized.

Attaboy!

Lonnie is a unique individual who never ceases to amaze us.  He wears many hats and among them, in no particular order, is the fact he is a salesperson, an inside customer service representative and, since April of this year, has been helping out with Collections.  In fact, Lonnie makes the trip from Elizabethtown to Louisville twice a week to work all day in Collections.

He is one heck of a loyal employee whose number one priority is taking care of the customer.  He’s a great guy to boot and we enjoy having him around.  Congratulations, Lonnie!

Four Ways to Educate Your Employees on Cyber Security

With the progression of technology, the idea that hacking a business is easier than ever is mind boggling.  Could it be that our protective measures have grown lax? According to some, organizations have had a rather conservative approach to safeguarding confidential information.
