Kentucky Derby Festival Clown Headquarters 2018

Duplicator is proud to be the Clown Headquarters for the 2018 Kentucky Derby Festival Pegasus Parade.  In fact, we have had the pleasure of providing this service for 20 plus years.  DS&S is strategically located at the very start of the parade at Campbell & Broadway.  Our garage area provides ample room for the “funny people” to meet, get their costumes together and basically entertain all employees coming and going.  And, by the way, we are a great audience!

Another New Face ... Alvolon Boyd!

Alvolon has been working as our Collections Specialist in the accounting department for the last few months through a temporary agency.  We’re pleased to announce she is now a full-time employee of DS&S.

Alvolon has 9 years collections experience under her belt and is excited to be part of a wonderful working atmosphere and surrounded by good people.

She has one grown son and loves to watch basketball and football, with the Louisville Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers being “her” teams.  Welcome aboard, Alvolon!

New Employee

Meet Todd Williams, a new Senior Field Service Technician in our Service Department.  He comes to us with over 25 years of technical experience.

He is married and has three children and one grandchild.  Todd enjoys tinkering with his 1979 El Camino and is always eager to help out with his youngest son’s Boy Scout Troop.  Welcome aboard, Todd!

A big welcome to Will Skaggs, a new Field Service Technician in our Service Department. Will graduated from Louisville Technical Institute with a degree in Computer/Network Administration and should be a great addition to the department.

He is a single dad and happy father of a teenage girl.  In his free time he enjoys woodworking and spending time with his daughter.  Welcome aboard, Will!

7 Tidbits Regarding the 2018 Thunder Over Louisville

As always, the opening act for this year’s Kentucky Derby Festivities is “Thunder Over Louisville”, an extreme fireworks extravaganza.  Pair it with the afternoon air show and you’ve got one entertaining day.  Here are seven tidbits that can make your day more enjoyable:

For He's a Jolly Good Fellow ... Don Washburn!

Don is one of our top-notch Service Managers in the company who is in charge of maintenance contracts and renewals as well as monitoring the financial well-being of the Service Department.  As of late, he has been instrumental in the transition of our aging OMD to E-Automate, a more robust and durable system.

Don has spent countless hours in training and knows the system inside and out and is more than willing to share his knowledge with us.  We truly appreciate his time and patience regarding the changeover and look forward to working with him in the future.

Welcome Back!

She's back!!!  Please welcome Jennifer Dalton back to Cash Receipts in the Accounting Department.  Jennifer was gone (and missed) for close to 4 1/2 months and she is very glad to be a part of the Duplicator family once again.

In the time she was gone, her daughter Ashley received a bowling scholarship and academic scholarship to Campbellsville University in the fall.  Impressive!

So glad to have you with us, Jennifer!

"May the Luck of the Irish be with You!"

Looking for something to do this weekend?  Why not join a Louisville tradition this Saturday in the Highlands?  The annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, always the Saturday before March 17th, will take place this year on March 10th.  For those unaware, the Louisville Hibernians put the whole thing together and deem it “the greatest parade of all time!”

Welcome Aboard!

A big welcome to a familiar face, Anthony Britt.  You’ve probably seen him in different departments for the last few months or so working through a temp agency.  We’re glad to say he’s finally found a home at Derby City Litho.  Anthony is the new DCL driver who delivers print jobs and also helps out on the presses.

Employee of the Month - Valerie Welch

Valerie joined Derby City Litho a mere year ago and in that time she has done an amazing job learning the printing industry.  She has quickly gained an understanding of file formats, paper, inks, bindery and press functions and the learning list just goes on and on.

She is very detail oriented and focuses on keeping our clients happy.  She has even helped us to better utilize our software (that’s been in place for a while) more efficiently.
