In Search of an IT Service Provider

With IT departments becoming more and more overwhelmed with requests, the managed services market is rapidly expanding.  Therefore, many organizations are turning to service providers outside of the company.   With this in mind, businesses have every right to be selective in their search for a reputable provider and should take into account that not all IT companies are created equal.

So, it’s very important to do your research and eliminate certain parties from the mix and find a good fit for your organization.  Sound complicated?  It doesn’t have to be.

There are 3 basic questions your IT Provider should be able to answer in the affirmative, making them a possible partner for your company.

  1.  Will you “pro-actively” manage my business’s network?  Ideally this company should be able to find the problem before it is a problem.  They won’t wait for your system to fail.  If being proactive isn’t one of their goals, eliminate them from your list.
  2.  If a problem occurs, how fast is your response time?  The last thing you need in your business is an outage, frustrating your clientele and costing you money.  A reputable company should be prepared to promise you a definite time frame in which they can respond to your needs.
  3.  Are you familiar with the industry?  Obviously, not all companies operate in the same fashion.  You need someone with experience in your line of business.

Together your business and a trustworthy IT Service Provider will proactively work to keep your network running at its highest level with tested methods for addressing industry-specific concerns.
